Joseph Frank Ramirez

June 27, 1950 - September 28, 2021

Joseph (Joe) Frank Ramirez, 71, ascended into Heaven on September 28, 2021.  Joe is preceded by his father, Joseph Figueroa Ramirez, his mother, Belen Richards Ramirez, and his younger brother, David Richards Ramirez.  Maintaining his family legacy are his wife, Drina, and daughters Jolene and Deanna Ramirez. He also loved his little four-legged boys, Joey and Skeeter.  Joe was his family’s hero and fought hard every day through his final challenge.

Joe was a proud Navy veteran, and a third generation roofer.  The eldest of 7 brothers, he learned the trade from the ground up.  Upon the passing of his dad, Joe took on the duties of being president of El Pueblo Roofing in Tucson and ran the company for decades.  He was a pioneer in the modern roofing and was very active in both the Arizona and the Tucson Roofing Contractors Associations.  Joe also shared the experiences with his  brothers of ranching, farming, and mining.

Joe was a dedicated husband, father, son, brother, mentor, and was a dear friend to a cast of hundreds. His trademark cowboy hat fit in with his demeanor and with his passions of hunting, fishing and life in general.  There are so many aspects of Joe’s life, that it is best to have family and friends recount the stories, the memories and the numerous acts of kindness.

Joe will be missed by so many, and to have him touch so many lives is a testament to his character.  Let us share his life by doing something good for someone, with thoughts of Joe in our souls.

Services will be held on November 4, 2021 at St. Augustine Cathedral, rosary at 9:30 a.m., mass at 10:00 a.m. and interment at Holy Hope Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.  A Celebration of Life will follow at El Casino Ballroom.   Masks are required at the church.
