Marvin Dennis Moench

June 25, 1943 - November 29, 2021

Marvin Dennis Moench passed away November 29, 2021, at the VA Center in Tucson, Arizona.  He was born in Sidney, Nebraska, to John and Lorraine “Toots" (Nelson) Moench on June 25, 1943, and grew up in and around Potter, Nebraska, graduating from Potter High School in 1961.  He was drafted into the Army in 1965, and honorably discharged in October 1967.

Marvin worked many different types of jobs, finally settling with the oil fields in several states including Ecuador, where he enjoyed the people, climate and the country.  When the oil fields dried up, he worked in trucking, which took him all over the US.  Marvin loved words, read voraciously, loved all things history, and loved to read to his grandchildren. Marvin enjoyed the Arts: Country Western, Classical/Spanish guitar, and most types of music including Opera.   He was quick witted, smooth-talking, larger than life kind of guy, a storyteller par excellence. He loved to laugh, travel, and enjoyed life.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Kay Moench of Lakewood CO, children Shannon Schwab (Dustin) of San Antonio TX, Shawn Biltginitis (Tabitha) of Luling TX, Ken Allison (Mary) of Dallas TX, 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and one brother, Wesley J Moench of Kimball, Nebraska.  Cremation has taken place.  No memorial service is planned at this time. Cards and remembrances are discouraged at this time.  Donations can be donated to PGA Hope which introduces Veterans with disabilities to golf to enhance their physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being.
