Leanora Cecelia Magee

August 27, 1934 - February 04, 2022

Leanora Cecelia Magee, 87, a long time resident of the east coast from New Jersey and New York, all the way to the west coast of Palm Desert, California, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday February 4th, 2022.

Leanora worked in New York City as a telecommunication professional developing software and was always up to date on the latest technologies. She made her way out west to California to pursue a real estate career where she ended her professional life working for Windemere Real Estate. Lee loved the sunshine, warm weather, and fast paced life style that Palm Desert brought her. Lee was the life of the party and could get along with just about anyone. Although Leanora never had children of her own, she adored her younger brother Tom and his children Logan and Libby.  While in good health, she frequented the east coast to see them whenever she could.

Lee is survived by her beloved brother, Thomas Magee, her nephew Logan Magee, and her niece Elizabeth “Libby” Magee; her nieces Kathleen Magee and Susan Magee-Drebych; and her nephews EJ Magee and Christopher Magee. Leanora is predeceased by her father Edward M. Magee and his wife, Lee’s step-mother, Evelyn Magee; her mother, Leanora C. Magee; her paternal brother Edward J. Magee and his wife Nancy and their son Robert; and her late husband Edward Micone.

During some of her last weeks she reflected on the lavish life she lived. She enjoyed good food, good company, and great wine. She also never turned down an In-N-Out “double-double- animal style”. Above all, she absolutely adored her family and friends and always made them feel her love. Lee was cared for by an amazing team of nurses and her very best friend, Linda Clark, during her final days.

At the request of Lee, there will be no services held. Lee’s remains will be scattered in the mountains of Palm Desert. We, the family, ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

Condolences 1

Linda Clark Dear Tom Libby and Logan My deepest condolences on the loss of your Sister and Auntie Lee. A dear friend to me beginning in 1980 through business. We quickly found out we lived around the block in NYC, sharing our favorite bar Runyons, where every evening the juke box played Sinatra “New York New York” and the whole bar sang along! Way too much fun, but we always got to work on time every day! We had many great times together traveling, holidays esp St Patrick’s Day, in several different cities! I always admired her smarts, quick wit, self reliance, her Irish gift of gab and her pretty Irish eyes! I am so glad I was here to be support and help her through the end. We will all miss our Leanora. Love to you all! Linda Please read about Lee below🌹
