JP Prendergast

June 26, 1974 - March 22, 2022

John Michael Prendergast (JP) died unexpectedly at his home in Fresno on March 22, 2022. He was was born on June 26, 1974 in Evanston, Illinois. JP grew up in Littleton, Colorado, and graduated from Colorado State University where he majored in communications. While in college he was on the cross country/track team, worked at the college radio station and performed in an improv group.

JP's passion was performing which led him to LA to pursue his acting dream. He landed a part on the West Wing, a role on Animal Planet and was a contestant on the Weakest Link. To support himself, he also worked in the hospitality industry. His favorite job in LA was as a manager at Vanguard Night Club where he made many lasting friendships. He liked nothing better than making people laugh at which he excelled.

He later moved to Fresno and made the leap to sales with Bitwise Industries. It was his dream job. He started in sales and was recently promoted to VP of Business Development. He had many friends among his colleagues there.

JP had a big heart. He took in 4 homeless dogs and named them Friday, Boba, Bonnie and Clyde. He loved the dogs who were his constant companions during the pandemic. He also loved spending time with family, especially in the mountains of Colorado, and attending Broncos and Rockies games with his brothers.

JP was preceded in death by his father Michael Prendergast and is survived by his wife Devon Prendergast, his mother Linda Schier, stepfather Sid Logemann, brother Mark Prendergast, sister Sarah Logemann and husband Garrett Mostowski, brother John Logemann and wife Lindsey, and many uncles, aunts and cousins. JP coined the name “Schlogegast” for his close knit blended family. He loved getting to know and playing with his new niece Naima last September in Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Valley Animal Center in Fresno (valleyanimal.org). Arrangements for a celebration of JP's life are pending.
