Donna Marie Turpin

September 05, 1957 - March 20, 2024

After a courageous fight with Pulmonary Fibrosis, Donna Marie Turpin passed away peacefully on March 20th, 2024, surrounded by her two sons Bradley and Chris Turpin and several family members. Donna was born on September 5th, 1957, in Colorado Springs, Colorado and was the 5th daughter of Jack and Jean Finlayson’s 8 children. Donna was the consummate “middle child” in that she never complained, was selfless and always took care of others’ needs ahead of her own. She loved being part of a large family and everything that entailed.

Donna had an infectious laugh and hilarious sense of humor, which would bring joy to everyone who had the privilege to have known her and were touched by her inner and outer beauty.

Donna attended the University of Northern Colorado, where she met her husband Brad who preceded her in death. Donna and Brad moved to Southern California in 1979 where Donna began her successful and rewarding career in the Mortgage Business, most recently as Senior Vice President at Change Mortgage. Throughout her successful career, Donna became close friends with many of her peers, team members and clients, many of those relationships spanning her 40-year career.

Donna loved to travel with her family and friends. Her favorite place to visit in the last years of her life was in Kauai at her sister Bridget Marlow and Brother-in-law Tracy’s home. One of the hardest times for Donna was when her doctor recently told her that she could no longer travel. Donna’s passion in life was being with her family and friends. Donna was such an inspiration to everyone who met her. She had the gift of lifting you up, encouraging and mentoring you. She was always there to share a laugh with, confide in, obtain advice from and to learn from.

Donna is survived by her son’s Chris and Bradley Turpin, Daughter- in- Law’s Isabelle Turpin and Annie Turpin, her seven siblings, Mark Finlayson and his Wife Paula, Chris Finlayson and his wife Kay, Judy Hardwicke and her husband Buddy, Patty Brown ( who preceded her in death) Bridget Marlow and husband Tracy, Terry Grinewich and husband Tom and Nancy Becerra.  Her four Grand Children Savanna and Bradley Turpin, Brie and Chase Turpin, along with over 20 Nieces, Nephews, Grand Nieces and Nephews.

Donna’s legacy was her strong and loving bond with her family and her positive outlook on life. Donna’s motto in life and her message Donna wanted to leave everyone was to be kind-just be kind to one another. We are so blessed to have had Donna in our life and will miss her and the special bond we all had with her.

A Celebration of life will be held and details on the location and time will be sent out in the next couple of days. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in her name to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Organization at https://secure.qgiv.com/for/pulfibfou/
