Thomas Randall Culberson, Sr

November 26, 1960 - July 17, 2024

Thomas Randall Culberson of Tampa, FL passed away quietly on July 17, 2024, at his home in Tampa, Florida with his loving wife of 36 years at his side. He was 63 years old and had courageously fought a 15-month battle with brain cancer.

Tom (also called TC or Stickman by his friends) was born in Arlington Heights, Illinois on November 26, 1960, to John Thomas "Tom" and Anne Culberson. He graduated from Howey Academy in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. Tom spent several years as a young man milking cows and working on the farm at Daniels' Holsteins near Athens, Georgia, his "happy place." He also worked in several different capacities in the automotive industry for over 40 years. He was employed at several car dealerships in the Tampa area, most recently at Century Buick. He very much felt a part of the Century family.

Tom was also very much a part of his recovery family. One of the few "white chip wonders" in recovery, Tom shared his message and his love with the recovery community for over 37 years. He was a proud and active member of Seminole Heights United Methodist Church, where he served on several committees.

Tom was very outgoing, always striking up a conversation with those he met. He enjoyed parties, dances, picnics, and cookouts with friends. He also enjoyed camping and hiking and spending time with his grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his wife Lisa, sons Thomas "Randy" and Kevin, six grandchildren, his sister Gail, and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased in death by his parents and his sister Joan. A memorial service will be held at Seminole Heights United Methodist Church
in Tampa on Saturday, August 3, at 11 am. The church will stream the event for those unable to attend. A private family gathering will be held in the near future at the farm in Athens.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the Moffitt Cancer Center, at https://www.moffitt.org/.
