Chrissy Sanchez
Rocky Wayne Fordyce (64) of Cambria, CA has entered eternal rest on June 21, 2024. He was born on September 18, 1959, in Clovis, California to Harry (Atlas) and Dora Lee Fordyce.
Rocky is survived by his bonus Mom Toni VanSandt, Sister Sandra Cardoza, Brothers Cliff and Eddie Fordyce. Nieces, Chrissy Sanchez (Fordyce), Amy Fordyce, Tommie Bowles, Tiffany Stewart (Fordyce), Candi Tripoli (Fordyce) and nephews; Michael Fordyce, Stacy Fordyce and Michael McGovern.
Throughout his career, Rocky always took pride in his work. From his time as a bus driver at Hearst Castle to his 20 years as head of maintenance at Coast Union High School, where he retired in 2017. However, his greatest joy came from coaching football (Coast Union & Mission Prep in San Luis Obispo, CA) and girls’ softball at Coast Union High School. Rocky was honored to be a California school employee association representative for the employees.
Rocky was humble, soft-spoken and steady; a man of simple tastes, a teller of stories, a good listener, a kind and gentle soul, a tower of strength and a master at barbequing. To know Rocky, was to love Rocky. He was a Cambria legend and friend to all.
Rocky Fordyce was proceeded in death by his brother Ronald Lee Fordyce and parents Harry and Dora Lee Fordyce.
