Fredric Lee Tappero

December 03, 1947 - July 13, 2024

Fredric "Ric" Tappero passed peacefully 4:40am on July 13th, 2024. We are certain he was aiming for 4:20 am.

The cause of death is not yet disclosed, however, he was asleep (in the hospital) and suffered no signs of pain or struggle during his physical to energy transition. Ric was stitched and held together by Kaiser twine and Kaiser pharmaceuticals for the past 15 years & should be awarded a plaque for having the highest bad cholesterol known to science.

He survived a load of trauma, such as: multiple purple hearts during his 2.5 years army war service, long term ill effects of agent orange, pancreatitis, 2 awful teenage kids, 1 misbehaving teenage granddaughter, multiple arterial leg bypasses, gastro septic and Frankenstein's monster reconstruction, a victorious battle with tonsil cancer, where the cancer didn't kill him but the inhumane treatment of chemo and radiation left him crippled and never the same since summer of 2019.
He also left behind a legacy: 2 fantastic offspring that grew up to be well rounded contributors to this planet, 1 granddaughter that he loved and cherished above all else, 1 great grandson that he loved & passed on his genes of great curly hair and chiseled cheek bones. He was a brilliant systems/hardware engineer with multiple high profiled tech companies and enjoyed his second career sitting on his ass driving a county bus with VTA.

He will be sorely missed as Ric was reliably the silence breaker, with a joke or hilarious outburst. Everyone will miss this funny guy. In the end he was bat shit nutty at times, 20% heart functionality very little kidney function, energy so low he couldn't enjoy his pack of smokes everyday. His first and final love, cigarettes. So yea, it was his time to say farewell to this planet and he did so with ease and peace. We miss you Dad. We will always miss you.
