Mikey passed away suddenly October 3, 2024.
Mikey was a beloved son, brother, treasured uncle and nephew..
Mikey was the light of our lives. He was born prematurely at 2lbs. 12 Oz. and had to be a stubborn little fighter to survive. He was the baby of the family and we all treasured him. He was spunky and sometimes silly. When he laughed, you could not help but laugh too.
His nieces adored him and he was always up for a game of Minecraft or a board game. His proudest moment was when his 10 year old niece beat him at chess. He rarely turned down an invitation to play basketball or show his nieces a skateboard trick or two.
Mikey's life was not easy. He was born with multiple birth defects and they affected him physically and psychologically. He struggled with depression but found his happiness spending time with family or his online community where he was so loved.
We will miss Mikey every day. We pray that he has a life now free from pain and a body that is free to complete every skate trick he ever dreamed of.
Mikey is survived by his parents Betty and Bill Bates, his father Chris Moore, his beloved sister and brother in law, Christy and Greg Tchaparian, beloved brother and sister in law, Matthew and Charlie Moore, his much loved and adored nieces, Vera and Ruby Tchaparian and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
We ask that if you also struggle with alcoholism you seek out an AA meeting and get the help that you need.
