I love that we can share pictures here! This one has to be 30+ years ago of us both.

When dad told me that Grandma passed, my heart broke. I don’t have any photos due to accidentally losing my digital photos, but I have a lot of good memories. I loved visiting Grandma when I was younger, and one of my many favorite memories is of her giving me my first hair dye job at age 19 when I was staying at her house for a week - it was the shade R3 Light Intense Auburn by the brand Garnier. We were laughing about how red my head was, with a plastic bag on. I remember her always looking fabulous, with her awesome sense of style, she was a fashion icon, always ready for church and talking with the ladies after the church services. She was an awesome grandma with a heart of gold, full of kindness and love, and she will be missed.
Rest in Paradise with Grandpa. May HaShem write both your names in the Book of Life.

This morning I read John 3:36 - whoever believes in the Son has eternal life. I often would think about sharing with grandma different verses that I thought she would find encouraging, and this morning was no different. But then I was reminded that she’s in heaven and is with the author of these words, Jesus. I’m so happy for her. I can’t wait to see her again and enjoy her in the completeness of heaven with Jesus. I miss her. I miss talking to her about God. Throughout my life, she kept a consistency of faith in her relationship with Jesus. Not to say that she was perfect (no one is), or that she didn’t doubt, struggle, stumble, etc. But she never lost her faith in Jesus. She had a true relationship with Him.
She gave me one of my first Bibles and wrote in it, Psalm 119:11. I have hidden your word in my heart so I won’t sin against you.
That was the first verse I can remember memorizing. It was one of those adventure Bibles that had cool things for kids to read to help understand about the Gospel. I dabbled in Christianity but didn’t fully give my life to Jesus until I was 19. Three years after my dad passed so I wasn’t able to know him in the light of Christ. But I did get to know my grandparents as a Christian and that was a gift.
Looking through photos and seeing my dad, grandpa and grandma who are in heaven, brings me comfort. Comfort because they are with the comforter and are finally living in perfect peace.
I know there was a lot I didn’t see or know about grandma, but what the Lord let me see will live as a legacy in my heart that I will pass onto my boys.
I love you grandma.

I loved spending time with her after she moved to Missouri. I remember her talking about her happiest memories as this picture of her and grandpa on the ferry. This is how I remember them both. She was never afraid to speak her mind and she loved “her boys” more than anything! We talked on the phone all the time and she was a dear friend as well.
