Dariush Hayatgheyb was born on March 13, 1944, in Shiraz, Iran, to Hossain Hayatgheyb and Fakhrol Molouk. He passed away on February 3, 2026, in Redwood City, California.

Following the Iranian Revolution, Dariush left Iran in 1984 and immigrated to the United States in pursuit of a better life for his family. While living in San Jose, he opened Denesh Bookstore, an Iranian bookstore that became a meaningful cultural hub for the community. Through books and media, he worked tirelessly to keep Iranian culture, language, and connection alive for fellow immigrants. Though the business was never financially profitable, Dariush continued operating the bookstore until 1998, driven by purpose rather than profit, before retiring.

Dariush was a kind, ethical, and deeply compassionate man. He believed in integrity, community, and doing what was right, even when it was difficult. He is survived by his two children and seven grandchildren, who will forever cherish his wisdom, values, and gentle presence.

His legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the community he served, and the family he loved so dearly.
