Mary Canez Nogales, Loving wife, devoted mother, and grandmother, Passed away peacefully on December 9, 2020, at the age of 90.  She is resting peacefully in the presence of God Almighty.
 
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Frank Vasquez Nogales; sons: Frank Nogales Jr, Pete Nogales Sr; brother: Frank Canez; son in law: Edward Carpena Sr; great granddaughter: Jasmine Marie Moore; and her parents: Miguel and Angelita Canez. 
 
She will be lovingly remembered by her surviving children: Hilda, Tony (Celina), Betty (Manny):  daughters in law Dolores, Cassandra: 21 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren: Brothers: Tony (Terri), Miguel (Celia): Sister: Angelita (Benny): as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends. 
 
Mary was born May 17, 1930, in Tucson, Arizona, the daughter of late Miguel and Angelita Canez.  Mary wedded the love of her life Frank V. Nogales on July 8, 1950.  After the unexpected passing of her beloved husband Frank in 1967, she went on to raise their five children with determination, unconditional love, and an open heart.  Mary worked as a Salad Maker with Ron’s Produce where she retired from.  After her retirement she would go on to travel, become an avid bingo player, and continued to celebrate countless celebrations with her family and friends, most notably with her dancing partner, sister Angelita.  In every celebration the sisters were on a dancefloor inspiring all generations to Live, Laugh, Love, and Dance.  Mary’s hobbies included the casino, word and scramble puzzles, card games, watching classic movies, and her love of the Atlanta Braves, especially “her” Chipper Jones. 
 
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Casa de la Luz Hospice for their care and compassion.
 
Mary will be remembered for her loving smile that lit a flame in everyone’s heart. 
 
Funeral Services will be held On Friday June 18, 2021 as follows:
St. Margaret’s Catholic Church 801 N Grande Ave, Tucson, AZ 85745
Rosary recited at 10:00am and funeral mass at 10:30am. 
Burial immediately to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery 3555 N Oracle Rd, Tucson, AZ 85705
