Francisco Javier Montoya was born in El Paso on December 3rd, 1960. He grew up in San Carlos, Mexico and lived most of his adult life in the West Valley.
Javier, as he was known to his family, was a devoted son, a loving husband and father and the best big brother anyone could ask for. He spoiled his grandkids and loved playing Santa Claus every year. Frank, as he was known to his friends, was a former TUHS Wolverine who went on to stand up for his country in the Army reserves. He was honored by Albertsons for over 25 years of service. He was a local boxing trainer and promoter and all-around great guy. He passed away on August 18th, 2021, in Phoenix, Arizona after losing his final match against cancer.
Javier was survived by his mother Victoria Aguirre Montoya, his wife of 37 years Floribertha, his son Francisco and Carlos, his daughters Yvette, Victoria and Yadira, his brothers Ruperto, Jose and Miguel, his sisters Sandra and Sonia as well as 10 grandchildren one great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his son Anthony.
Francisco Javier Montoya was laid to rest September 1st at Holy Cross Cemetery in Avondale, AZ.
