Ernest Salazar Quiroz, “Ernie” passed away peacefully at his home in Phoenix, Arizona September 25, 2021. He was born November 7, 1924 in Superior, Arizona.
He fought in the United States Army In the Asia/Pacific theater.
He returned to marry his sweetheart, Monica Vender Quiroz in 1948. They were married until she preceded him in death in Phoenix, Arizona in 2015. His oldest son, Ernest Raul Quiroz Jr. also preceded him in death in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2014. He was the middle child with four sisters, Margaret, Alexandra, Guadalupe, and Mary, all who preceded him in death.
Ernie is survived by his four other children, Rosemari Ochoa, Gloria Quiroz, Veronica Chagolla (Julio) and Richard Quiroz (Vicky). He had sixteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.
He worked tirelessly in the Catholic programs, RCIA, Cursillo Movement and Prison Renewal. He also enjoyed a special devotion to our Blessed Mother, La Virgen De Guadalupe.
Ernie was a great husband, father and provider. He will forever be remembered by family and friends for his humility, generosity and unique sense of humor.
