October 19, 1933 - January 30, 2022

Dad was from Ídaho.  He moved with his family to California in 1955.  He lived in a few states.  Idaho and Texas were the main two.  He owned a restaurant/bar business in Idaho.  Around that time he got bucked off a horse.  It fractured his back and paralyzed him.  He taught himself to walk again.
He tried other occupations but always went back to painting until he retired.  As a retired man he worked transporting older people to go to places to spend their day shopping etc.  He also worked at a Walmart.
Dad enjoyed fishing.  I took him to the ocean for his final fishing day.  We caught ten fish.
Dad was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader.
One hobby was painting cars.
His wish joining the military was to become a cook.  But he was not granted that.  The military trained his as a vehicle mechanic.  Later as a plane mechanic.
He was on an Air Force plane that crash landed.  That damaged his ear drums.  He didn't like being a mechanic since he joined to be a cook.
I won't mention the people who did him wrong.  He was upset about them and remembered them even with having dementia.
Dad looked forward to getting haircuts at two haircutting salons.  My daughter also helped cut his hair.
Dad was fearful of being in water deeper than his waist due to the holes made by doctors from his ears to his throat after the crash landing of the plane.
Dad took some vacations with me.  It was his idea where to go on the vacations.
He enjoyed hunting.  He wanted to have his shotgun so he could go outside and shoot quail.
Once while hunting for deer a bear was running towards him.  He shot it.  Then a bear was going down a tree above him after shooting the first bear.  He shot the second bear.  It fell on him and knocked him out.  I ate the meat from both bears.
He hunted for ducks and other game animals.
Dad told a few stories while talking with family about his life.
He always liked wearing a coat.  That's because of having frostbite as a younger person.
Maybe read the share from my sister Sandra.
My niece Amanda made sure my dad was taken care of for many years.  She made sure others didn't take advantage of dad.
Dad always smiled for a photo.
