December 22, 1950 - February 18, 2022

On February 18,2022, Sara Ann Farren,71, a former resident of Birmingham, Alabama and a recent resident of Estrella Center in Avondale, Arizona passed away unexpectedly on the morning of February 18,2022.  

She is survived by her brother; David Lowery (Millbrook, AL); her three daughters; Winona (Windy) Waite (Baton Rouge, LA), Melinda Farren (Wichita Falls, TX), and Monica Dantori-Dominguez (Buckeye, AZ); her grandchildren Anthony Giles, Brooks Waite, Jonathan Waite and Victoria Rodriguez.  She is predeceased by her parents; her husband; David Farren; her sister, Emma Elizabeth (Beth) Magyar; and her grandson Patrick Giles.

Sara Ann Farren, born December 22, 1950, to Winona Flowers and J.T. Lowery as the oldest of three. She grew up in central Alabama until she married on June 27, 1970, to David Farren (Maine). From 1971-1975 respectively, they welcomed their three daughters, who were very important parts of their lives. Sara Farren was widowed on March 2, 1978, after complications from health due to a house fire on January 16, 1978, causing the death of her husband. 

Sara maintained a free, uncontained, or uncontrolled lifestyle traveling throughout the United States until she decided to settle in the Birmingham, Alabama area in 2000. Sara remained as a resident until her move to the Phoenix area in 2019.

Sara maintained her strong faith as a member of the United Methodist in Birmingham, Alabama. Her dying request was to be cremated and allow her remains to be spread in the important areas of her life while in Alabama.  A memorial service will be held at Avenidas Funeral Chapel, 522 E Western Ave, Avondale 85323.

At Sara Farren’s request in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may also be made to Stillwater Hospice, 9720 W Peoria Ave, Peoria, AZ 85345 or First Light Homeless Shelter for Women and Children 2230 Fourth Avenue North, Birmingham, AL 35203.
