William John Vomastic 1944 - 2022

William (Bill) Vomastic passed away on May 7, 2022 after a long battle with COPD and diabetes. He was born in Shawano, WI where he grew up on a farm prior to moving with his family to West Allis, WI.  He enrolled in the army just prior to the official beginning of the Vietnam war where he was stationed as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne. He was a staff sergeant, sharpshooter and Army Ranger, enlisting for two tours of duty in the early 1960s.

Bill married Marsha (Henderson Lewis) Vomastic in the drive-through in Las Vegas in 1997. They lived in Edgerton, Wisconsin until retiring to Merced, California. They had wonderful times deer hunting, camping, canoeing, fishing, and renovating an old house in Edgerton together. They shared their home with lots of cats that adored him.  Bill held a variety of jobs, including semi-truck owner-operator, choosing life over a traditional career and was known for doing things his way.

Bill is survived by his wife Marsha Vomastic; step-son David C. Lewis and his children; his two sons William Vomastic (Jr.), and Dennis Vomastic and his children; special daughter Cari Dundurs and her children; brother Thomas Vomastic and sister Marylyn Vomastic-Martin. 

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Alois and Cecelia Vomastic, his sister Marlene, his first wife Sandra Vomastic and young daughter Kim.
