Jim Westley Mathews, at 78 years of age, passed away this past Monday, August 22, 2022 in the presence of his daughters and his granddaughters.  

Jim was born in Jacksonville, FL in 1944, one of five children. He married his highschool sweetheart, Antoinette, at an early age and they quickly started building their life together in St.Petersburg. Before long they had three little girls, Kristine, Kathleen, and Melissa Kim. 

To support his ever growing family, Jim began a career in banking. Being a personable, charismatic man, he quickly moved up the ranks to president of the bank. His success brought opportunities for their family to travel and they discovered a love for skiing in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. As much as he loved the mountains, Jim’s true love was Florida, where he enjoyed swimming in the warm waters of the Gulf and golfing any chance he could get. 

Later in life he transitioned to auto sales where he stayed for the remainder of his professional career. After retirement he continued to golf and enjoy time with his family. Towards the end he was provided exceptional care by his daughter, Kathleen, and her husband Tim.

Jim is survived by his three daughters, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and was looking forward to the birth of another great grandchild.
