Arnold Don Lintelmann

March 25, 1927 - June 27, 2022

Arnold Don Lintelmann, passed away on June 27, 2022, at St Francis Hospital in Federal Way, WA. He was born on March 25, 1927 to Harry and Peggy Lintelmann of Pocatello, ID.

Arnie grew up in Pocatello and was very gifted in both music and art. He started violin lessons at the age of 9, and by 11 was doing extensive soloing for church and many other organizations. At 11, he started playing in a group with his father and uncle called ‘The Rocky Mountain Serenaders’. He played in orchestras in his schools and won numerous National Orchestra and American Federation Music Club competitions. In 1947, he won the national Horace Heidt Music Competition. In junior high, he was appointed concertmaster of his high school symphony and went on to become concertmaster of the Idaho State Symphony for 5 years.

He signed up for the Navy in 1945 and was called into active service 3 days after graduation. He was assigned to Confidential Operations in San Diego. While there, he played in the San Diego Symphony. Upon discharge, he returned to Pocatello and enrolled at Idaho State College majoring in music and art.

Arnie married his sweetheart, Lavon, in 1949. They remained in Pocatello until 1953, when he took a job in Seattle working for Boeing. He loved his job in Seattle, but Lavon didn’t like the rain, so it was back to Idaho and more sunshine in 1956. Arnie worked for Phillips Petroleum at the Nuclear Reactor Site in Idaho Falls before taking a position at Lockheed Martin in Denver from 1957 until his retirement. He excelled in every position and project he held and was Lead in Technical Publications, a Senior Logistics Engineer and Specialist, Senior Illustrator as well as many other positions over the years. Some of his most rewarding projects were the Titan II, Peacekeeper, Skylab - MMU, Space Shuttle FMFA/CIL, Titan Satellite Launcher, ICBM’s and many others.

During his years in Denver, he was also the National Art Director for OK Tires for six years as well as owning his own commercial advertising art business.

Arnie always continued with his music and played professionally in Denver. From 1972 to 1980, he played with ‘The San Marco Strings’, a string group at the Brown Palace Hotel. He also played with orchestras at his churches, stage orchestras, Christian organizations, hotels, private dining rooms, country clubs, studio recordings, private parties and numerous grand openings.

He was an amazing man of such tremendous talent and integrity. He adored his family and his Savior, Jesus Christ. He lived his life
for the Lord and used his many talents to give back to serving Him daily.

He leaves behind his wife, Lavon, of almost 73 years; his daughter, Jan Fallt of Portland, OR; his son, Jack Lintelmann and wife Anne, of Federal Way, WA; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. His son, Kurt, and brother, Jack, preceded him in death.

Arnold was buried at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, WA on 8/11/22.
A Memorial Service was held at Calvary Community Church, Sumner, WA on 8/12/22.

For years, Arnie found such joy in volunteering at Set Free Prison Ministries. The family suggests donations go to this ministry.
