Mattie Arrington was born March 20, 1937 to the late James Coleman, Jr. and late Ida Mae Carter Coleman. She attended McGill Jr high school and was a caregiver to her late Grandpa Isom and mother.
Our Mom longed to get back in church. She was a giver and hard worker. She taught us to pray, trust God, greet people, share what we have, and to show kindness to others. She passed away at home after a long illness with her family by her side.
Mattie married Earnest Dickerson and three daughters were born from this union. Left to cherish her memories is Myrtis Dickerson, Erie PA; Ruby Pratt, Cle, OH; and the late Earnestine Collier. Eight grandsons Arron Johnson, Sanyika Patterson, Yusef Collier, Simeon Pratt, all of Cle, OH; Seamus and Geremia Parker of Erie, PA; Eric Patterson and Joao Dickerson preceded her in death. Three granddaughters Parish Dickerson, Hannah Patterson both of Cle, OH; and Angelique Parker, Erie, Pa. Sixty-eight great grands, one preceded her in death. Twenty-two great-great grands, three preceded her in death. Three brothers all preceded her in death James Jr., Willie J., and Aden Coleman. Two sisters-in-law Zera Coleman (Aden) Laurel, Miss, and the late Lula Mae Coleman (James). Spiritual daughter Amanda Whittset, special mention Odetta Patterson, host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
