James (Jim) Truman Lillie was born in Corry, PA on March 31, 1953 to Lee and Clarabelle Bessie (Beers) Lillie. Jim passed away at home in Peoria, Arizona on August 25, 2024. He was married to Carol (McDonald) Lillie for fifty years. They have four wonderful children Stephanie (Lillie) Brown, Angela (Lillie) Matta, Brenton Lillie, and Scott Lillie. Jim also loved his daughters- and son-in-law, Christine (Mackay) Lillie, Stephanie Ponce Rosales, and James Brown Jr. Jim was blessed with seven grandchildren and a great granddaughter. Jim was very family oriented, and he loved to tell stories with his siblings Judith (Judy) Parkhurst and Roy Lillie. Jim was the best uncle to countless nieces and nephews and their families. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Clarabelle, brother Raymond Lillie, and sister Mary Arbo. 

 

Jim graduated from East High School in Phoenix, Arizona. He joined the Army and served in the Vietnam War. Jim was a hard worker and started a small delivery business that he operated for over twenty years, traveling throughout Arizona. Jim and his family loved dogs and rescued many throughout the years. He loved his basset hound, Duke, and Minpin, Ellie. Jim is also survived by his rescue Buzz, who misses him dearly. 

 

In lieu of the traditional memorial, we invite you to join us for a picnic and celebration of his life at 1:00 p.m. on October 13, 2024 at Sahuaro Ranch Park in Glendale, AZ. Come and tell your best stories of our dad and honor him with your love and laughter.
