Brendan William McAdams

September 21, 1979 - January 10, 2025

Brendan William McAdams of Emeryville, CA passed away on January 10, 2025.

Brendan was born on September 21, 1979 to John and Maryanne McAdams. He grew up in Havertown, PA playing ice hockey for the Hawks, snowboarding at Jack Frost and paint balling in the summer. Brendan was an accomplished computer programmer and engineer who in over 25 years made a lasting impact through his work at various companies. He had the distinct honor of speaking at the Library of Congress as well as many conferences and mentored many friends. In recent times he enjoyed getting back onto a snowboard, reading, baking, traveling and riding roller coasters with his niece and nephew.

He is survived by his sister Meghan Carman [Edward], his nephew TJ, niece Eva, his cats Marlowe and Archer, his corgi Otter Lee Ridiculous, his grandmother Mary Maher and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. Brendan was predeceased by his parents John and Maryanne McAdams.

Christopher League Thank you for posting this, and sorry for your loss. I knew Brendan on the tech circuit when he was in NYC. He was an inspiring speaker, witty but always authentic. We kept in touch online after he moved, and I looked forward to his posts and messages. Any book he recommended went to the top of my list. Brendan will be missed.
