Doris Jean Bordner

January 06, 1931 - February 01, 2025

Doris Jean Bordner (Bloompott)

Doris Jean Bordner (Bloompott) passed away peacefully at home in Rio Vista, California, on February 1, 2025, at the age of 94.
Jean was born on January 6, 1931, to Francis Jeff Greenfield and Vivian Cox Greenfield in Peoria, Illinois. After the passing of her father in 1936, she was lovingly adopted in 1939 by Frederick and Leona Bloompott. She was predeceased by her biological parents, adoptive parents, and siblings Robert Greenfield and Donald Greenfield.
Jean graduated from Manual Training High School in Peoria as part of the Class of 1948. In 1951, she married Philip Charles Bordner, with whom she shared many adventures as a Navy family living around the country and abroad. They moved to Guam in 1957, where Jean had the unique opportunity to visit Japan, and then moved to Hawaii in 1968 before they divorced. Jean lived in Hawaii until 1985 before moving to the San Francisco East Bay Area to be near her children.
A devoted mother and homemaker until 1971, Jean began working for Special Services at Barbers Point Naval Air Station in Ewa Beach, Hawaii. After relocating to California, she enjoyed part-time work in floral shops in addition to helping care for her grandchildren. Jean found joy in reading, knitting, crocheting, and needle crafts throughout her life.
Jean is survived by her children Rebecca Bordner, Robert Bordner & his wife Celeste, and Barry Bordinero. She was a loving Nana to eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Jean will be remembered for her resilience and the love she shared with her family across generations. As per her wishes, no services are planned. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
