Dayton Sadie Meaten

April 18, 2010 - December 02, 2024

Remembering my amazing beautiful niece DayDayđź’”

Dayton Sadie Meaten, 14, of Mount Vernon, New York, passed away on December 2, 2024. Born on April 18, 2010, Dayton was a bright, loving, and compassionate young girl whose presence brought joy to everyone around her. She had a beautiful soul, always eager to listen, comfort, and uplift others, no matter the circumstances. Though her time here was far too short, she left a lasting impact on her family, friends, and all who knew her. Tragically, Dayton lost her battle with mental health and passed away by suicide.

A dedicated student at Mount Vernon Gorino Giovanna Middle School, Dayton excelled in math and science, earning straight A’s and embracing every opportunity to learn. She had a love for gymnastics, a passion for styling her hair, and an appreciation for music especially sad songs that spoke to her kind and introspective heart.

Faith played an important role in Daytons life. She was an active member of Fresh Start Christian Center, where she cherished spending Sundays with her best friend, her grandfather, Joe. Together, they found joy in worship, with Joe playing music for the church choir while Dayton sang along, feeling the presence of God in every moment they shared.

Daytons love extended beyond her family and friends to her three beloved cats, who brought her endless comfort and happiness. She was a compassionate soul who never turned away anyone in need, always offering a listening ear and a kind word. She found excitement in even the smallest moments, including the joy of getting her braces proof of the enthusiasm she carried for life little milestones.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know her. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

A celebration of Dayton life will be held at Fresh Start Christian Center in Mount Vernon, New York. Details regarding services will be shared with family and friends.

Rest in peace, Dayton. You were loved beyond measure, and your light will never fade. Love you baby girl.
