Frederick William Bocchetti, Jr.

November 18, 1947 - March 16, 2025

Frederick William Bocchetti, Jr., of Port Richey, Florida, left for Heaven on the evening of March 16, 2025. Born in Lakewood, New Jersey, on November 18, 1947, to Fred and Agnes Bocchetti, Fred lived a rich, colorful life defined by creativity, family, and storytelling.

Fred was an “outside the box” thinker from an early age. His curiosity sparked a lifelong passion for learning—he began reading Popular Mechanics as a boy, which eventually led him to restoring classic cars, exploring jewelry design, and building a dynamic career in film and video production.

A natural entertainer with an adventurous spirit, Fred danced his way into the spotlight as a teen, winning a contest on the Boardwalk in Bradley Beach. He later produced Bob Marley and the Wailers at the iconic Jamaica Smile Concert in 1976 with his video company. He studied at NYU and Pratt, while gaining hands-on experience working at PBS, NBC, and Goodnight America with Geraldo Rivera. He also worked as a lighting manager at the Mt. Pocono Raceway 2-Day Rock Concert, featuring artists like Rod Stewart, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, and Three Dog Night.

Fred was also proud to have worked at Studio 54 in New York City in the 1970s, where he met stars like Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Donna Summer—memories he loved to recount with a smile. He co-owned a video production company that, at one time, created content at the famed DesiLu Studios in Hollywood, CA.

Fred remained active in his community throughout his life. He was involved in neighborhood watch in Manhattan, had a deep interest in genealogy and ancestry, and was always eager to learn about his roots in Monteverde, Italy. He will be remembered as someone who always strived for knowledge, and desired to be involved in their own history.

He was brilliant, eclectic, and had a big heart. He often said, "Everything’s gonna be alright, and each day is a gift."

Fred was a devoted family man, and nothing mattered more to him than those closest to him. Widower of Linda Thayer, he is survived by: brother, Robert F Bocchetti; sisters Lisa R O'Keefe and Kathleen M Bocchetti; daughter, Annie M Bocchetti; brother-in-law, James O'Keefe and niece, Chelsea O'Keefe. Stepmom, Marilyn Bocchetti; stepsisters Susan Benedetti and Debbie Kettler; niece, Gina Bella and nephew, Michael Lombardo.

A Memorial Celebration of Fred’s life will be held, with details to be announced. Fred’s family would like to thank everyone who knew Fred and shared his stories, as those stories keep his family going. In honor of his memory, donations may be made to Gulfside Hospice, whose care and compassion supported him and his family.
