Becca Jones
William Carl See, affectionately known as “Liam,” was born on September 30, 1945, and entered eternal rest on August 15, 2025, at the age of 79.
Liam devoted his life to faith, family, and the pursuit of justice. Ordained as a Lutheran Pastor in 1981, he served his congregations with deep compassion and a steadfast commitment to social justice. His ministry extended far beyond the pulpit—his voice and actions consistently championed equality, kindness, and community.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nunna Cyrus Hensley See, with whom he shared a devoted marriage until her passing on August 15, 2005. He was also preceded by his parents Charles See, Esto See and a brother David See.
After Nunna’s passing, Liam moved to Portland, Oregon, where he found a vibrant and welcoming community. There he became an active member of All Saints Episcopal Church. While living in Portland he forged lasting friendships with Jim Freda, Joel Spector, Steve Norcross, Reverend Constance Hammond, and many others. Known for his warmth and openness, Liam never met a stranger and touched countless lives with his friendship and spirit.
Liam leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory forward: his children Vivian Noe (Andy), William Hensley (Sandy), and Cyrus Hensley; grandchildren Rebecca Jones, Jessica Frederick, Christopher Hensley, Noah Hensley, Nathan Noe, and Nunna-Beth Noe; and great-grandchildren Serenity, Lynnea, Izzy, Evelyn, Ariana, Madeline, Wyatt, Rose, and Sawyer.
His legacy of love, faith, and justice will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be remembered as a pastor, an activist, a friend, and above all, a man who loved deeply and lived faithfully.
A service to celebrate Liam’s life will be held at a later date and his granddaughter Rebecca Jones will provide the date, time, location and zoom information.
