Sandra L. Williams Loeb was born on August 6, 1952, to Jesse Williams and Charles Green in Lansing, MI. She was raised by her grandmother, Mary Green, who she called “Ma Mary”. Sandra earned her associate’s degree in accounting from Lansing Community College in 1972. That same year, she moved to California with her mom and gave birth to her first child, Brent Williams, on December 27, 1972. Two years later, she welcomed her second child, Karmen Williams on December 6, 1974. Shortly after, she met, and married Johnny Gardner and they welcomed Maisah Gardner on April 13, 1976. They had a tumultuous relationship and divorced in 1978, when Sandra moved to Sacramento, CA with her mom.
In 1983, Sandra met Terrance Loeb when he was visiting his children. They started a relationship and in 1984, they moved in together in Los Angeles, CA. They married in March of 1988. Over the years, Sandra worked at a variety of places including Fair Line Furniture, Kmart, and Western Reference Laboratories until she found a Special Education Assistant position at Los Angeles Unified School District in 1991. She remained with the district until she retired in June 2015.
In 2016, Sandra and Terrance made the move to Hanford, CA where they lived a quiet and relaxed life. Sandra continued her passion for caring for special needs children as an In-Home health assistant until 2022. In February 2023, Sandra moved back to the Los Angeles area to live with Maisah. Shortly after the move, Terrance was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer and Sandra travelled to Sacramento, CA to provide care for him until his passing on July 23, 2023. She returned to southern California with her own medical complications. In June of 2024, she was diagnosed with end-stage kidney failure and put on dialysis. Over the next year she fought hard to overcome the challenges of her declining health. On August 7, 2025, she was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia and an infection in her dialysis port. She was moved to Harbor Post Acute Care Center on Friday August 15th, but her health declined rapidly after her dialysis session on August 16th. She made the difficult decision to stop going to dialysis and was placed in hospice care on August 19th. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
Sandra is survived by her loving children – Brent Williams (Rona), Karmen Williams Arline (Lamont), Maisah Gardner, Jeanetta Goss (Darrin), Charles Loeb (Sabrina), and Melynda Loeb – 17 grandchildren, her brothers- and sisters-in-love, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
