Eric Edward ‘Boots’ Phelan

July 11, 1972 - September 07, 2025

Eric Edward “Boots” Phelan, 53, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, September 7, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona.

Born on July 11, 1972, in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, Eric was the son of Wallace Edward Hilderbrand and Deborah Lynn Pollock (Freeman). He was also the beloved son of his stepfather, James Gordon Pollock, and his step mother Debi Phelan. Eric spent his childhood in San Diego, California, and later earned his GED and an Associate's Degree in Business Management from Eastern Arizona College, graduating with a GPA of 3.6.

Eric was a skilled craftsman who loved to build and fix things. He could tear anything apart and put it back together again, a talent that served him well in his career. After completing a four-year apprenticeship at the Eyman Wastewater Treatment Facility in Florence, Arizona, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona and became a supervisor at Liquid Environmental Solutions. In his free time, Eric was a talented artist and tattooist. He had a great sense of humor, a big smile, and a lifelong passion for skateboarding, baseball, music and motorcycles.

Eric is survived by his wife, Audra Renee Phelan; his children, Jordan and Jayden Deac; his stepsons, Zack and Seth Anderson; his mother Deborah Pollack; his sisters, Jennifer and Kelley Phelan; and his grandmother, Marian Irene Seitz (Candelent). He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews: Sean Patrick Phelan, Milan Michelle Jordan, Nicholas Ryder Phelan, Harley Lynn Rebelo, Kylie Marie Rebelo, Michael Jeffrey Rebelo, Isabella Christine Rebelo, Jacob Joseph Phelan Zaragoza, and Seger Backes. He is also survived by his two sisters-in-law, Brandy Backes and Bridget Phelan (Backes).

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Michael Wiley Phelan, and his brothers, Michael and Sean Phelan.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks for all the kind words and support during this difficult time.

A celebration of life will be held from noon to 4p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at one of Eric’s favorite spots, Hooper’s, located at 5114 W Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301.
